Gourmet mushroom grow kit

Grow your own gourmet mushrooms at home with our kits, which come with complete instructions and email support. Your kit consists of a 5 pound bag of sawdust colonized by mushroom mycelium, and this block will form mushroom fruits when you expose it to fresh air and high humidity. To do this you simply cut a few slits in the bag, mist it with a spray bottle a few times a day, and wait patiently for a few weeks.

All you have to do is put the block in a place you will see it often, spray the block with water a few times daily, and be patient, it will take 2-4 weeks to get mushrooms. Once baby mushrooms start to form it will only take a few days until they are ready to harvest! You will more than likely get 2-3 fruitings of mushrooms from your block, with a few weeks between each.

The easiest strains to grow at home are lions mane or any of the oyster mushroom varieties. The oyster mushrooms differ based on their color and texture, and the temperature at which they grow best. Sporeless oysters are the meatiest and last a long time in the refrigerator (up to 2 weeks), whereas pink oyster is very delicate and decomposes more rapidly (about a week in the fridge).

If your house is 65-72F you will want to choose sporeless oyster, pearl oyster, lions mane, or chestnut mushrooms. If your house is 72F or warmer you will want to consider sporeless oyster, pearl oyster, lions mane, or pink oyster. Shiitake is much more difficult to fruit at home without specialized equipment, but we can make you a shiitake kit if you would like to try it.

Comes with complete instructions and email support. If your kit does not grow, we will replace it! Strain availability changes depending on what we are growing, so email us for the current availability or lead times on custom orders. Email: cultures@theculturedmushroom.com
